Osaka PV: Alexia

The classroom is no longer empty, but the individual we are to call “teacher” has yet to arrive, causing a really noisy business to be developing here, however the lack of work allows me to relax for a while and think.

At times I tend to wonder ‘Why are we here?’ I mean, all of us. There are many theories towards the answer of this question, and I haven’t even begun to know them all. Still, at times, I tend to make my own, if anything because it feels as if the others don’t really resemble what I perceive as reality. One of my favorite theories is that we are here with a mission.

I guess it’s my favorite because having no purpose more than what you can imagine is rather scary, not to mention that, more often than not, I can swear I know what my mission is, even if it’s unnoticeable to many others. It’s better that way; I wouldn’t be able to accomplish my duty if everyone was weary of what I saw of them. After all, I am here as an observer, and it’ll be up to me if I’ll become the judge and, given the case, the executioner.

However, lately I’ve come to notice that I might not be as alone as I thought I was: Before it was only me, observing the cattle that humanity has come to be, all of them living their own private heavens or hells, unaware of what would come, that was until I noticed certain special specimens among my group of observation.

They are different somehow, they don’t act like the others and, like me, they stick out when in a crowd, I doubt I share destiny with them but it’s my duty to recollect information on what they are and how they could and might influence my mission.

They are, exactly, four individuals, two females and two males, of them only a pair; a boy and a girl, is in my class. If well I can easily follow the movements and gather Intel about all of them at the same time I’ll have to focus on one for now, so I can follow a proper method of observation, question is… who?

I look around, among the chaos of noises, shouts and laughter, I can easily see them, each one sitting on their respective places. The male, is reading a manual about something and swinging his arm around, as if fighting something I do not manage to see. What the Holy Hell? Is he capable of seeing beyond the actual dimension? Not even I can do that when I am in this simple form… Or he could be faking it, or just practicing, if that’s the case maybe I should test his skills, I could use an ally or use the knowledge of how strong a possible enemy could be.

The female, a short one with a strange look on her face, is some seats away. I observe her with curiosity; ever since I saw her in first year I knew something was amiss, she surrounds herself with different people all the time and I doubt she always knows who she’s talking to. More often than not I’ve seen her claiming to have different powers and to be “analyzing”.
Analyzing what, exactly? Is she like me? Could there be a second Gate Keeper in this dimension?

Guess that’s for me to find out eventually.

I note down their names, I do know them but I hadn’t bothered to actually get close before, I was too busy learning my own mission as to see others’ but now I see how much of a fatal tactical mistake that was. They are not the only ones I’ve known of being different, there are other two in the other grade, still, these are the ones I’ll observe more closely for now: Arganthiel Raurich, Akina Hanasaki… Now, how to choose?

Tinker, tailor
Soldier, sailor
Mad man
Sane man
Beggar, thief

When I finish my small chant, my pen is over the Analyzer’s name; Akina Hanasaki. In that moment the “teacher”, a fat man with very strange voice and a bald spot, enters the room and it all becomes quiet. I am quite content though, my target has been chosen and this should be interesting.

Very interesting indeed.
